I have long wanted to set my foot on Temasek Island @Tumasek @Singapura @ Singapore. I yearn to see and experience it myself what have been said about its cleanliness, adherence to rules, efficiency of the public transport system, etc (except for the high living expenses). Unexpectedly, I had a chance to join my nephew's family on Christmas Day in Singapore and so these are a few simple lessons that I learned during the brief trip:-
). Traveling alone is not really boring but rather quite relaxing. Just book a ticket and check-in online. Spend the time answering sms, reading or just a nap. By no time, I was already there.
). Bring along limited clothing. It is light and easy. After all, there must be time for shopping. Have money can travel.
). Solving and arranging oneself is easy. You are the master of yourself. Can read can travel.
). I didn't feel that I was oversea because the environment and weather are almost the same but the facilities are more customer-friendly. According to the taxi driver, chewing gums are not allowed. How good! (even if I can just implement in school).
). Communication is vital for a tourist. With my fair command in English, I felt convenient going around communicating with people; from the hotel receptionist, ticket counters, shop assistants, taxi drivers and airport staffs. So, to all my students, never give up English. Can speak can travel. Have a good time!
